SBE Carries Out “Dengue-Free Area Program” in Balongsari

As part of its commitment to supporting community health, CV Sinar Baja Electric (SBE) once again conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative titled “Dengue-Free Area Program.”

The activity was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at RW 1 in Balongsari Sub-District, and was a collaborative effort between SBE and the Tandes Sub-District.

This program was initiated as a concrete step to help prevent the spread of dengue fever (DBD) through the use of mosquito-repellent herbal plants in local neighborhoods.

The event consisted of two main activities: the distribution of herbal plants and a health education session. In this program, SBE handed over a total of 60 plants—including citronella, lavender, and zodia—to the Kader Surabaya Hebat and the Head of RW 1.

In addition to plant distribution, the activity also included a health briefing delivered by representatives from the local Community Health Center (Puskesmas). The session provided education on the benefits of herbal plants in preventing the breeding of dengue-carrying mosquitoes, as well as guidance on how to care for the plants to ensure they remain healthy and effective for use in residential areas.

Through this initiative, SBE hopes to contribute meaningfully to increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The program also reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to actively supporting government initiatives in health and environmental sustainability.

With simple actions such as planting herbal mosquito-repellent plants, communities are encouraged to work together to create a healthy, green, and dengue-free environment.
